Indian Pudding

 3 cups Milk
  cup Molasses
  cup Yellow Cornmeal
 1 Beaten Egg
 ¼ cup Sugar, White or Brown
 2 tbsp Butter
 ½ tsp Ground Ginger
 ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
 ¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
 ¼ tsp Salt

In a large bowl, combine egg, sugar, butter, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

In a saucepan combine milk and molasses.

Slowly stir the cornmeal into the milk and molasses.

Cook and stir until thick about 8 - 10 minutes.

Remove from heat.

Gradually stir hot cornmeal mixture into egg mixture.

Pour into a greased 1 quart casserole dish.

Bake, uncovered at 300 degrees about 1 1/2 hours until set.
