Jam Cake

 1 cup Sugar
 ½ cup Butter
 2 Eggs
 ½ tsp Vanilla
 1 ½ cups Flour
 ½ tsp Soda
 ½ tsp Allspice
 ½ cup Buttermilk
 ½ cup Blackberry or Other Jam
 ½ cup Chopped Nuts, Optional
 ½ cup Chopped Raisins, Optional

Cream the butter and the sugar together.

Add the beaten eggs and then the vanilla.

Mix all the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternating with the buttermilk.

Add the jam and the nuts if using.

If using the raisins, make sure to roll them in flour first before adding them after the jam and the nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 - 35 minutes.
